THURSDAY, July 23 - Breakfast at 9:00 instead

The weather is looking wet (possibly- probably).  Let’s meet for breakfast at Hy Vee on Barry and St. Clair at 9 if you can make it.

We’ll save the Liberty ride for another time.

I've chosen an ambitious ride for me.  My rides lately have been shorter but the weather looks good so I have this 33.5 mile ride to the Corner Cafe in liberty.  It's 16.5 miles there and 17 miles back.

The weather looks good!

THURSDAY, July 16 Noon Ride from Riverside to Replace usual Start

The Parade of Hearts is moving the "A Warm Welcome" heart from MCI to the Riverside City Hall (2990 NW Vivion Road, Riverside, MO  64150) on Thursday, July 16th with a ceremony scheduled for 2:00 PM.

This will be my 150th of 150 Parade of Hearts heart visited by bicycle this year and my 449th heart visited since 2022.

I plan to lead a ride starting from the Renner Brenner Park (2901 NW Vivion Road, Riverside, MO  64150) at  leaving at noon.  The route may change depending on weather conditions but I have mapped this 15+ mile route for the occasion.

As you can see the weather may cause problems.

THURSDAY, July 9th - Embassy Suites to Platte City - 8:30 Start

Repost of a couple weeks ago that we didn't get to do.  I'll try again this week.  We'll see if that 8am rain chance holds.

I have decided on this route to Platte City with our breakfast stop at Roxanne's. A little over 12 miles up and 12 miles back for 24.59 miles total according to Map My Ride.

BTW

I'm up to 149 Parade of Hearts seen.
The 150th is due to be moved from MCI to Riverside next Wednesday.

THURSDAY, July 2nd - Embassy Suites to Kate's Kitchen - 8:30 Start

I hope this isn't getting boring but I'm headed back to Kate's again this week via this route:

THURSDAY, June 25 - Embassy Suites Adjacent to (or toward) Camden Pt (Scotts Kitchen) - 8:30 Start

Bob is taking the lead again this week and will ride up Interurban to Camden Point and return to Scott's Kitchen for the brunch stop.  This is roughly a 30 mile total with Scott's only two miles from the finish.

Weather might be a problem causing a shortening of cancellation of the ride.  Check in the morning if you have questions about the status of the ride.

THURSDAY, June 18 -Rain Threats - Cancelled - Breakfast at 8:30 AM

The forecast I'm seeing has pretty high chances of rain during our planned ride.

I'm calling for our Hy Vee breakfast option at 8:30 instead.

ORIGINAL POST

The forecast for Thursday keeps changing.  At the time of writing the rain chance at 8 has increased to 24% (yesterday it went from 24% down to 3% now back up) so I may announce a change in start time in the morning.

I have decided on this route to Platte City with our breakfast stop at Roxanne's. A little over 12 miles up and 12 miles back for 24.59 miles total according to Map My Ride.

THURSDAY, June 11th - Embassy Suites Adjacent to Kate's Kitchen - 8:30 Start

I have another ride to Kate's Kitchen this week. Here is the route I have planned (I may alter this a little but for now - this is my plan).  I'm making this shorter because of the wind speeds and the increasing chances of rain.  Changes could be possible.

THURSDAY, June 4th - Embassy Suites Adjacent to Riverside - 8:30 Start

This route is a 15 mile route to the Corner Cafe in Riverside and an 11.5 mile return for a total of 26.5 miles and several hills.  There will be some hills along the way.

THURSDAY, May 28 - Embassy Suites Adjacent SHOW-N-GO 8:30 Start

Due to a conflict I am unable to lead a ride this week.  Bob Papreck will take the reins again. One thought was to ride up Interurban to Camden Point then back for approximately 30 miles.  This may be changed, though.

PS - Most of the mileage would be before the stop at Scott's Kitchen if this is what the decided for the route.

The weather looks pretty good:

THURSDAY, May 21 - RAIN THREATS CANCEL RIDE - Embassy Suites to Riverside

RAIN POSSIBLE

BREAKFAST AT HY VEE

9:00

SEE YOU THERE

For this week (weather permitting) I have this 21,5 mile route to the Corner Cafe in Riverside.  I am thinking altering the route but it would be essentially as laid out here.

With the forecast of early morning rain I have moved the start to 9:00 AM .  I will be checking in the morning and announce any necessary changes in the plans.

For Heart Chasers - There is one in Riverside.  I already have this one as one of my now 95.

THURSDAY, May 14 - Embassy Suites (Adjacent) To Kate's Kitchen - 8:30 Start

I've planned a route to pick up a couple Parade of Hearts on the way to Kate's Kitchen (breakfast stop).  The ride will be about 20 miles there and a total of around 27 miles; so short coming back.

When the wind picks up we should have an assist on the way back to the NE.

THURSDAY, May 7th - Embassy Suites (Adjacent) to Platte City - 8:30 Start

This one might be ambitious for me but I'm game to try.  There are a couple downhills I am not looking forward to - AND a couple climbs (not HH) and grass.

I've mapped a route to Roxanne's, our usual Plate City stop.  13.7 miles there and 12 miles back for 25.7 miles total.

There are two Parade of Hearts hearts on the way there,

The weather looks pretty good.  Cools at the start an wind speeds increasing.

THURSDAY, April 30, Embassy Suites to First Watch on Ambassador - 8:30 Start

I'm going to try the ride we aborted last week due to the accurate threat of rain; a short ride of around 19 miles passing by three of the Parade of Hearts hearts for photo ops.

I've been to 60 hearts so far of the 150 this year.

Here is the map of the route starting and ending at the Urgent Care parking lot adjacent to the Embassy Suites lot where we used to park.

The weather looks a little better than last week but still 15% chances after 10:00.

THURSDAY, April 23, Embassy Suites to First Watch on Ambassador - 8:30 Start

This is a short ride of around 19 miles partially due to increased winds but it does pass by three of the Parade of Hearts hearts for photo ops.

I've been to 34 hears so far of the 150 this year.

Here is the map of the route starting and ending at the Urgent Care parking lot adjacent to the Embassy Suites lot where we used to park.

I'm a little concerned about the wind and the precipitation chances.

THURSDAY, April 16th - Northland Ride to Kate's Kitchen - 8:30 Start

I've mapped this ride to Kate's Kitchen for this week.  It's only 20 miles, roughly 10 miles each way.  I'm not sure how my stability will be but I'll give it a try.  I have made an attempt to keep things pretty flat (which seems to help).  Here is the usual stuff:

Weather looks pretty good
