Thursday, December 29th: Embassy Suites to Platte City starting @ 9:00 AM

I trust everyone is having an enjoyable Holiday Season. It looks like Thursday, December 29th, is going to be a good day to ride. I plan to lead a ride to Platte City for breakfast at the Country Cookin' Cafe. We will leave Embassy Suites at 9:00 AM and follow this route. I hope to see you there.

Thursday, December 1st: Embassy Suites figure 8 starting @ 9:00 AM

PLEASE NOTE 9:00 AM START TIME
I haven't been on my bike is a couple weeks. Though it will be a cool start I thought I'd better commit to a ride this week.

Again I am picking this 2 loop ride that has a breakfast stop at the Cracker Barrel just across I-29 from Embassy Suites. We can do one or both loops. The ride will begin at 9:00 AM. The google map is here. We did this ride about a month ago but due to a threat of rain (which we dodged) only 3 riders showed up.

Thursday, November 17: Embassy Suites to Dearborn

This week I will schedule the ride to Dearborn leaving Embassy Suites at 8:00 am. Breakfast will be at Cook's Corner. Their phone number is 816-450-3600. I am subbing and will not be able to join in but this route works nicely as a show-and-go. The out and back route map for the trip can be found HERE. This ride is slightly under 40 miles. Have fun and I'll be thinking of you while teaching a little chemistry.

Thursday, November 10: Embassy Suites to Platte City

Thursday, Nov. 10th we will ride to Platte City leaving Embassy Suites at 8:00 AM for breakfast at the Country Cookin' Cafe. The last forecast I saw had a morning low in the mid 30s with a high for the day in the low to mid 50s. It could be a cool ride but sunshine is in the forecast, too.

The route I have in planned stays away from HH so it's not as hilly as some Platte City runs. We still plan to climb up 4th Street after breakfast to get out of Platte City.

See you there.

Wednesday, Nov 2: Embassy Suites figure 8

This week I will be unable to ride on Thursday so I'm scheduling the Northland ride for Wednesday, November 2nd. Weather.com is showing a 30% chance of rain increasing to 50% by 9:00 AM. I thought I'd wait a day to decide on a route.

UPDATE

The weather forecast doesn't look great. I thought I'd pick this 2 loop ride that has a breakfast stop at the Cracker Barrel just across I-29 from Embassy Suites. We can do both loops if weather allows of bail (pun intended) if not. The ride will begin at 8:00 AM. The google map is here.

POST - RIDE
Only 3 of us, Pat, Richard and me, challenged the threat of bad weather. As it turned out we had a great 33 mile ride with not one drop of rain. We did the blue loop counter-clockwise then Pat & I continued on the red loop clockwise (no breakfast stop). I plan to return to a Thursday ride next week.

Thursday, October 27 Embassy Suites to Dearborn

This week I will lead the ride to Dearborn leaving Embassy Suites at 8:00 am. Breakfast will be at Cook's Corner. Weather.com is forecasting a cool start in the mid 30's but warming into the 50's. Also forecast is a slight headwind on the way up but an increasing push for the return. The out and back route map for the trip can be found HERE. This ride clocks in at slightly under 40 miles (round trip). This is probably the flattest ride I lead.
What do you say?

WEDNESDAY October 19th Embassy Suites to Platte City

Please note that this week's ride is on WEDNESDAY (not Thursday) due to a conflict in my schedule. This week the ride will go to Platte City leaving Embassy Suites at 8:00 am; breakfast at the Country Cookin' Cafe. The forecast is for the coldest morning of this Fall with morning temps in the low 30's and not warming very much during the ride, perhaps to the mid to upper 40's. Weather.com does indicate sunny skies, though. Dig out your cold weather gear and join me. The map for the ride is here but modifications can be made depending on conditions.
